I am a creative educator, independent researcher, and experimental filmmaker based in Chicago, Illinois. Contemplative by nature, my unorthodox style instigates seeing the world through symbols, metaphors, and hidden meanings. The inner world is where I’ve felt most at home, giving voice to universal human emotions on a profound level. My modes of expression began in theatre as an actor and writer, eventually expanding into cinema. While struggling with mental illness, I sought to blur the boundaries of narrativity, with subjective reality taking precedence over objective reality. My films are more about self-authoring and interrogating, exploring, and expanding the limits of cinema’s narrative faculties by having the aesthetic exhibit the behavior of the subject’s psychic reality. Following my undergraduate studies, I worked as a teaching artist, specializing in horror filmmaking, personal literacy, and social-emotional learning. I helped students access their deepest feelings and identities by emphasizing personal language through media storytelling.
